Help for Tom and his Uganda Wildlifescene in trouble due to the pandemic

Hi everyone, I'm Paola Marinari, I'm a doctor, passionate about travel, photography and wild nature. I suffer from 'African sickness' and Tom Bakara is a Ugandan friend of mine: a young tourism entrepreneur, passionate and competent in his work, always smiling and friendly. For one year, due to the pandemic, he has not worked, his colleagues have been unemployed, their savings are exhausted and their families in difficulty.

Covid has hit hard even in distant countries of which little is said.

Tom allowed me and many other people to enter the heart of the 'Black Pearl', Uganda, to know many unspoiled places, to share the smiles and hugs of the children of many villages, to look mountain gorillas, the lions in the trees, the chimpanzees in the eyes, to warm myself in the sun of the savannah and admire the African sunrise and sunset. Great, unforgettable and unrepeatable emotions.

It is also thanks to the contribution of people like Tom, who offer travelers serious and respectful tourism, that wild animals survive. Without tourism, without the economic resources that derive from it, gorillas, already at risk of extinction, lions, giraffes, chimpanzees, and all wild animals risk becoming objects of speculation and being captured and killed by poachers and hunters, willing to pay lot of money for macabre and expensive souvenirs made with anatomical pieces of these animals.

While waiting for the covid to allow us to return to travel in the arms of Mamma Africa, among its generous and charming inhabitants, let's help Tom to keep himself and Uganda Wildlifescene, to be ready, as soon as possible, to give to the new and old travelers exciting experiences, immersed in a wild nature, in contact with the colorful local realities, enjoying the big smiles of Ugandan people.

I have already sent my small contribution, but unity is strength!

Thanks to those who will contribute to this collection.
